About Arizona ESA Tutoring
Founded by parents of a special needs child. Powered by a decade of experience.
Our Story
Arizona ESA Tutoring is part of Special Ed Resource, founded in 2014 by Luke and Suzie Dalien. Like many of the families we serve, Luke and Suzie are parents of a child with special needs — their son has autism and Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
They started Special Ed Resource because they knew firsthand how hard it is to find tutors who truly understand learning differences. Not tutors who "work with all kids," but specialists who know how to adapt instruction for how your child actually learns.
What began as a small tutoring service has grown into a nationwide team of 40+ special education professionals who have delivered over 100,000 tutoring sessions to families across the country.
Why Arizona ESA Tutoring?
When Arizona expanded its Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program to universal eligibility, we saw an opportunity to help more families access the specialized tutoring their children need.
But we also saw families struggling with the system. Reimbursement paperwork. Confusion about approved vendors. Not knowing how to find tutors on ClassWallet.
We became a ClassWallet approved vendor specifically so Arizona ESA families could use their funds with us through Direct Pay — no out-of-pocket costs, no reimbursement hassles, no paperwork headaches.
By the Numbers
What Makes Us Different
🎓 Special Ed First
Our tutors have backgrounds in special education — not just subject expertise. They understand IEPs, learning differences, and how to adapt instruction.
💳 ClassWallet Direct Pay
We're a registered ClassWallet vendor. Your ESA funds pay us directly — no reimbursement, no out-of-pocket costs.
🏠 100% Online
Live 1-on-1 sessions via video. Whether you're in Phoenix or Payson, your child gets the same access to specialists.
👨👩👧 Parent-Founded
We're not a tutoring franchise. We're parents who built the service we wished existed when our own son needed help.
